Downton Abbey

I've recently jumped on the Downton Abbey bandwagon, and I cannot. get. enough. The characters are so richly drawn and the acting is so perfect, they really pull you into this world and you can't help but root for them through the high's and low's in season one. If I was asked to name my favorite characters I would choose Sybil, Matthew, and Anna. Downton Abbey reminds me a little of the movie The Remains of the Day in how it shows the hierarchy and the complex system that goes into running an estate and servants took extremem pride in whom they served. I had a really hard time wrapping my brain around that mentality, but watching Downton Abbey and seeing the interaction and dynamic between the servants and the family helped me understand why the relationship wasn't strictly employer/employee. Season two airs in January for us in the States, and I can't wait!
